Our Leadership Team
Jim Gellas
OPS Partners was founded by Jim Gellas in recognition of the pains startup founders can have in reliably executing business operations. Jim began his career as a CPA and eventually took a career detour of several years as a Human Resources leader and third-party recruiter.
Upon completion of the MBA program at the University of Southern California, Jim joined a NASDAQ-listed company as their Controller where he was tasked with bringing their Finance function up to SEC registrant standards.
Jim later went on to turn around a software startup that had been unprofitable for nine years, provided accounting and investor relations services for a multi-billion dollar VC fund, and grew the North American arm of an accounting software vendor from a customer base of 10,000 to 90,000 over three years.
Jim has been a Fractional CFO of venture-backed startups since 2018 where his work has contributed to more than $200M in raised capital.
He has held several board positions including several years as an executive and board member at the California Society of CPAs. Jim is an active mentor with NewChip Accelerator and was a member of the inaugural class of the CFO Readiness Academy, conducted by FEI (“Financial Executives International”). When not partnering with startup founders, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, or attending rock concerts.
Corey Quinn
Corey has a 25-year track record of successfully building companies as an entrepreneur, sales leader, and CMO for a $100M+ company. Now, his focus is on helping Founder CEOs create scale through high-impact go-to-market strategies.

Scott Baker
“You are not like other HR people I know,” people tell me. To me, this is evidence that I focus on that which is aligned and critically impactful for the business to achieve its objectives, not a generic HR “check-the-box agenda”. I bring an innovative approach to responding to opportunities, situations, and challenges – perhaps all three wrapped into one!
My background spans high-tech, service/logistics, and manufacturing from rapidly scaling global start-ups to large publicly traded companies, from bootstrap to PE and VC funded companies. I have worked with established leadership teams and new leadership teams, and a mix of both. I have ten years of experience reporting to the CEO/Founder as VP HR and have been an active member of the Senior Leadership Team in reviewing and developing strategy. I bring the best HR and leadership ideas and practices from all industries and companies – I am a lifelong seeker and learner of HR and leadership best practices.
I believe in the KISS principle and seek the most impactful solutions and recommendations. A simple solution, program, or initiative will often result in greater acceptance and utilization – therefore it will be more impactful. Some can create complex, lengthy, and multi-tiered solutions assuming them to be more effective, oftentimes they are not.
Certifications matter these days. I am certified as a Senior Professional in HR (SPHR), a Global Professional in HR (GPHR), and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coach Federation (ICF). My toolset includes certification in DiSC, Five Behaviors of a Team (Lencioni), and Social Profile assessments. I have a Masters Degree in Human Resources and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
